We have two programmes to choose from, our Living Well to Work Programme run in partnership with the Cornwall Learning Partnership and the Skills for Young People Programme run in partnership with Careers Southwest.

Our employability programmes combine workshops, work experience, work placements and qualifications. We support people through their journey back into employment with one to one mentoring, group work and information, advice and guidance. The combination of staff expertise and our unique setting have created some wonderful success stories, come and find out for yourself.

This Programme is run in partnership with the Cornwall Learning Partnership and is funded by the European Social Fund. The programme is suitable for individuals suffering mild to moderate depression, anxiety and stress and aims to remove the barriers faced in getting back into work.

This programme runs from July 2017 until July 2019 and will provide employability and life skills at Newquay Community Orchard. A wide range of activities are available including Cornish hedging, horticulture, woodwork and construction along with the additions of events management and hospitality in 2018.

Run in partnership with Careers South West and funded by the European Social Fund this programme is for young people aged between 15-24 who are not in employment, education or training (NEET). We provided a combination of life skills, employability skills and qualifications delivered in a unique outdoor setting.

This is a vocationally based outdoor programme that brings priority groups of young people closer to employment or further learning. As part of our programme delivery we have formed working partnerships with Treviglas Community College and Tretherras Academy.

Eli joined Newquay Community Orchard after being referred by the Turnaround project in Newquay. Eli was suffering from depression and also wasn’t sure what he wanted to do in life (but who does at 21?).

After volunteering for a few months Eli joined our Skills For Young People Programme. He then went through more structured delivery and learned trade skills, specifically Cornish hedging, which he was most interested in. He picked the skills up very quickly and began to grow in confidence.

Eli also went through employability workshops and then started an entry level 3 qualification in outdoor practical skills with us. Upon successful completion Eli graduated and secured a job on a farm where he is utilising all his new found talents.

We are very proud to have been a part of Eli’s journey!
